It takes about 4 hours to go to Annecy from Paris by TGV (300km/hour High-speed train).
The landscape displayed fast behind the windows.
It’s beautiful, but it’s actually quite redundant.
Getting bored, I took out my sketchbook and doodled a bit. looking for some creative ideas.

TIP 24 Never get bored. Doodle anything, anytime, anywhere

Taking a train, waiting for a date, or even trying to sleep, kill your time at doodling. You will discover many opportunities to draw and naturally improve with no much effort.

Drawing from a high-speed train is actually quite challenging. Everything goes fast. The closest houses show up only for a few seconds. It’s a great exercise to train your “flash memory”.

When I look at each doodle, the real picture flashed back into my mind.

TIP 25 Take note fast and easy

Doodling is a great way to take notes. Some notes that may not make sense to people. But for you, it’s different. It will reactivate your memory. Even a clumsy doodle is enough for your brain to connect your brain to that specific object, painting, sculpture.

Along the way, I saw many designs of lamp posts. I guess you can roughly put the date on when was the last time the urban furniture has been updated.

Similar to Sketch 9, Power-lines, the railways are full of these. There is a great mix of old and modernity that fascinate me. I may draw some more soon.

That’s all for today. Don’t hesitate to share your opinion.

    • Hello Laura,

Fast doodling is very useful at school when you need to take notes – and the teacher goes fast in explanation :).

It’s also useful when you take personal notes and observation when you go a museum also – looking at paintings and sculptures.

      🙂
      Cheers,
