How to Draw C-Curves in 5 Steps
Drawing is simpler than you think!
Many beginners are scared at drawing curves.
I show you some sketching techniques and exercises on how to practice the C-curves.
To practice, follow these 5 steps:
- Draw a straight line
- Add the middle axis (make sure it is perpendicular to the line)
- Choose a height on this vertical axis
- Use the ghost drawing, and start drawing with a light pen pressure
- Bold and adjust your C-curve if necessary.
That ‘s it! You are doing great!
Learn the Straight line, C-curve and S-curves
The key in drawing complex objects is in the simplification.
Whenever I need to draw a complex form, I split it in multiply small C- curves and S-curves.
Remember to apply the ghost drawing before drawing the curves for neatness and accuracy.

my shoe drawing is composed of a series of simple lines, C and S curve all assembled each other.
This technique doesn’t apply only to shoe designs but on any products you want!
